Before
those keys are handed over, think about your security system for
a moment. If you keep the only set of keys, your current system
is probably adequate. But if employees, parking attendants or anyone
with even temporary access to your keys can have them copied without
your authorization, you may need to reassess your security needs
your security system isn't a high security system unless you can
control duplication of all your keys.
Key control, along with pick resistance and anti-drill construction,
has always been an essential element of Medeco High Security locking systems. Now Medeco has patented BIAXIAL
locks - the security industry's new state of the art - for even greater
key control. The BIAXIAL lock cylinder operates on a double-locking
principle with over one billion key combinations and expanded master
keying options. The new BIAXIAL pin tumbler mechanism must be operated
by a special key and each lock has its own unique key. BIAXIAL locks
are ideal for businesses banks, office buildings, factories, apartment
complexes, hospitals, retail stores, schools, and home owners who
do not have sole possession of their keys. When you use the new
Medeco DBK Program, only you can authorize the duplication of your
keys.

DBK: A Unique, Restricted Key Program
The Medeco DBK program is a exclusive, restricted key security service
made available only to select Medeco professional locksmiths and
their end user customers. Under this program, a unique key section
is assigned by Medeco to each qualified locksmith by means of a
contractual agreement. This agreement holds the locksmith responsible
for key blank inventory and proper stock of products so that the
appointed locksmiths and their customers are assured both security
and quick turnaround on orders and cut keys.
Each selected locksmith in an assigned territory is the only locksmith
within a trading area who can offer this special keyway. To the
consumer, this means that no one else is assigned their unique key
combination, and in order to have key duplicates cut, they must return
to the same locksmith from whom his DBK product was purchased. Under
the Medeco contract, this locksmith must obtain a signature to compare
to and verify the purchaser's signature kept on file. This key duplication
signature card also helps to maintain the record of key blanks cut,
so that the locksmith's inventory can be monitored.
The
DBK restricted key program gives Medeco end users the exclusive
key control always imperative in security situations, yet affords
them the convenience of accessibility of stock and key duplicates. |
