OCTOBER 2003
October was full of fun and activities for the residents of Longwood and
Magnolia Place. The month started off with a number of the residents
of Longwood and Magnolia Place enjoying lunch and a tour of the
exhibits at the Orangeburg county fair. It was amazing how much “Fair food” (translate that Junk food) we all managed to put away. Then it was time to walk it off looking at the prize winning crafts, animals, produce, and baked goods (oops, we’re back to food). Anyway, the weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time. If you missed it this time, make a note to join us at the 2004 fair.
October 22 was German day at Longwood Plantation and Magnolia Place. Plenty of German food, German travel videos, and of course topped off with German chocolate cake.
October wouldn’t be complete without lots of Halloween parties, kids and treats. We had plenty of all . The Orangeburg Prep Interact club held a Halloween party for the residents of Longwood Plantation. They brought along homemade cookies and brownies, scary Halloween mugs filled with candy and games where everyone was a winner. Thanks Interact club!
The Howard Middle School 6th grade Student Council held fund raisers to raise money for treats for all of the residents attending their party at Longwood.
The First Baptist church daycare center brought some tykes in costume to trick or treat and received goody bags filled by the residents.
October also included lots of other treats from homemade vegetable soup to ice cream on the porch.
After all this eating, the Friday sittercise sessions with Kathy were a popular and healthy activity for many residents of Longwood and Magnolia Place. Kathy gets everybody movin’ and feelin’ good.
Del Rae provided an October morning of entertainment in her particular jazzy style.
October was another great month at Longwood Plantation and Magnolia Place.
